Gary Wayne Gilbertson

Gary Wayne Gilbertson, 63, passed away Saturday, February 12 after a difficult battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his mother, Linda McCaskey (nee Echard) and his brother, Martin Gilbertson. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Kyla; father, Ralph (Delores); stepfather, Rexford; siblings, Kelly (Travis) and Morgan (Eric); nieces, Victoria, Margaret, and Sadie; nephews, Garrett and Emmett; along with many other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his girlfriend of 2 years, Deborah.

Gary was born in Barberton, Ohio on February 4, 1959. He graduated from Barberton High School in 1977. He then went on to earn a degree from Akron University. He worked at P&G as a Corporate R&D Specialist for 22 years until the time of his passing. Gary was an avid guitar player and loved to play with his bandmates in “The Other Band”. He also enjoyed running, playing chess, and solving puzzles. He will be greatly missed.

The visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, Ohio 45044 on February 18 from 5-7 p.m. Per the family's request, please wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. A Celebration of Life will be held in Barberton, Ohio at a later date.
