Genevieve A. (Jenny) Elsen (nee Wagner), age 95, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Cincinnati, OH.

Jenny enjoyed a wonderful 65 years married to Cletus J. (Bud) Elsen who passed away on June 2, 2024. She was a devoted mother of Mary Kay (Dan) Berning, Laurie Ann (Jim) Bauer, Steven Cletus (Chris) Elsen, and Linda Marie (Steve) Hamberg, a proud grandmother of Genevieve (Nestor) Berning, Susie (Konstantin) Ivanov, Anthony Bauer, Maria Bauer, Briana (Heath) Turner, Troy (Amanda) Elsen, Amber (Brandon) Gilstrap, Nicholas Hamberg, and Amy Hamberg, adoring great-grandmother of Martha, Herlinda, Peter, Daniel, Joseph, Kinsley, Cora, Madison and Andrew, dear sister-in-law of Fred A. Binder of South Bend, IN, baby sister of the late Mary Ann Binder, John (Natalie) Wagner, Esther (Bill) Baker, Harry (Dorothy) Wagner, Martha, Margaret and Vince Wagner, and sweet aunt of Vince (Skeeter) Wagner of Aptos, CA and 19 other nieces and nephews plus many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Jenny grew up in Pleasant Ridge Ohio. Her childhood was marked by the development of a deep and abiding faith in God, which guided her through her life. She married in 1958 and devoted her life to building a loving family. Her compassionate and generous spirit touched everyone around her, from her own family to her neighbors. She found joy in caring for her grandchildren, even during their toughest days, and her love will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate to receive it. During the 50 years Jenny and Bud lived on Noble Court, they created a home filled with kindness, where she supported her neighbors by babysitting, caregiving, lending a listening ear, baking homemade treats and offering rides to church or appointments. Every skill she possessed became a way to serve and uplift others.

A visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1830 W. Galbraith Rd., Friday, December 13 from 10 am to time of Mass of Christian burial at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Rita School for the Deaf, Association of the Miraculous Medal, or St. Margaret Mary Church.
