Genie C. Craig

CRAIG, Eugenia C. “Genie,” age 74, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Beloved wife of 51 years of John W. Craig. Devoted and loved mother of J. Scott (Beverly) and their children Marshall and Andrew of Boston, Douglas T. (Vicky) and their children Kayla, Allie and Jaxson of Cincinnati, Rev. William P. (Kristine) and their children Takia, Teaira, Talea, Tamea and Brandon of Cincinnati, David M. (Sandy) and their children Owen and Julianna of Atlanta, Katherine E. of Atlanta, Sharon L. of Cincinnati and Dorothy R. of Charlotte. Genie’s first love was Jesus Christ, with her family a close second. Her priority in life was to raise her children in the nurture and admonition of The Lord. For over 25 years, she led Prayer Meetings and taught Women’s Bible Studies at the College Hill Presbyterian Church. Genie was instrumental in the establishment of The Hope Community, a Christian orphanage of over 200 orphans in Kenya. For many years, she spent one month in Africa every summer ministering to the orphans. Genie was born in Jackson, MS, and graduated from the Mississippi State College for Women. After graduation, she was a stewardess for TWA, flying international flights out of NYC. Memorials may be sent to Partners for Hope, P.O. Box 24246, Cincinnati, OH 45224, or College Hill Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at the College Hill Presbyterian Church, 5742 Hamilton Ave., Thursday November 1st at10 a.m.
