George George Loeber

LOEBER George. Age 87. Devoted husband of Ann Hughes Loeber. Dear brother to Kathryn (Jeff) Henriques. Loving father of Louis (Mimi) Loeber, III, Janice (Thomas) Barney; beloved stepfather to Krista (Lee) Sartore, Katie (Craig) Ramsdell & Beth (Barry) O’Nan. Adoring grandfather of Grant, Melissa (Missy), Adam, Brian, Edward (Ted), Abbey, Laura, Paul, Connor, Ryan & six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Woods, father Louis George Loeber, I, and mother Hilda Davis Loeber. Born Manhattan, NY, August 5, 1926. He was raised in White Plains, New York, where he graduated from high school. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Maine. George was an Eagle Scout, a scout leader, and helped inspire seven family members to attain Eagle rank. He served in Germany in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII as a cryptographer. George completed advanced training to be a Certified Financial Planner and guided families for 54 years in that field. He was a lifelong Episcopalian, taught Sunday school, and served as senior warden at Church of the Holy Spirit in Forest Park. He passed away August 1, 2014, just before his 88th birthday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Episcopal Church, 6461 Tylersville Rd. in West Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 10078 Reading Rd., Cincinnati 45241, or Haven House Emergency Shelter, 550 High St., Hamilton, OH 45011.
