George J. Coors

COORS,George J, beloved husband of June A Coors (Bachmann) for 66 years, died on December 28^th, 2015 at the age of 93. He was born June 27, 1922, son of the late Bernard and Hattie Coors. Brother of Clifford and the late Edward and Ray Coors. Father of Jack Coors, Janet (Dan) Cottingham, and Mary Ann Coors (Erv Stiers).  Survived by grandchildren Tony (Amy) and Alison Coors, William and Sara Cottingham, great grandchildren, Amber, Audrey, and Alyse Coors. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was honorably discharged in July 1946.  He was a Lieutenant and was rewarded three bronze stars for his services in the South Pacific. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1947. He was Treasurer of Phi Kappa fraternity. He worked for Coors Dairy for 45 years and was Vice President and General Manager. He was President of Cincinnati Dairy Technology Society and board member of Ohio Dairy Products Association. He was an avid golfer and tennis player. He was a member of Western Hills Racquet Club. He also served as an usher for St. Ignatius Church for over 40 years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3 from 5-7 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224 and Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, January 4 at 11 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 5222 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH  45247.
