George H. Ostendorf

George H. Ostendorf passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 12, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born in Suhle, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1958.  He was preceded in death by his parents Franz and Rosa (nee Kessen) Ostendorf, siblings Paul, August, Frank, Alfons, Angela and Thekla. He is survived by Clara (nee Jansen), his wife of 58 years, and children Sylvia (Dan) Smith, Janet (Dilip) Tripathy, and Ralph (Kim) Ostendorf. Beloved Opa of Gretchen, Anne, Samuel and Chad Smith, Nikolaus and Pia Tripathy, Nathan and LCpl Leah Ostendorf, USMC. George had a long career in the greenhouse industry and brought joy to many generations of Cincinnatians with the flowers that he grew for Ostendorf Greenhouses. He was a member of the Catholic Kolping Society for over 60 years and extremely proud of his German Heritage.  Visitation Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Hodapp Funeral Home, in College Hill. Kolping Prayers at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at Little Flower Church in Mt. Airy.  Memorials can be made to Fr.
