Geraldine Wilson

Wilson, Geraldine (Gerry) Ansteatt, of Daleville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was born in Clermont County, Ohio on September 13, 1932. She was the eldest daughter of the late Arnold Ansteatt and Josephine Work Ansteatt. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Kenneth Powell Wilson; and grandson, Kenny Wilson. She is survived by her son, Philip and his wife, Cindy, of Irvine, California; her daughter, Claudia and her husband, Bryan Pittenger, of Roanoke, Virginia; five grandchildren, Candice, Pete, and Julia Wilson, and Corinna and Bethany Pittenger; two sisters, Nancy Ansteatt Kors and Arlene Ansteatt Wolff; and many nieces and nephews.
Gerry was a graduate of Owensville High School, Ohio, Georgetown College, Kentucky, and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She taught in the Finneytown Local School District, Princeton School District, and the Sharonville United Methodist Church Preschool/Kindergarten in Ohio. Gerry served as Director of the Preschool/Kindergarten for twelve years and Kindergarten teacher for five years. She also supervised Junior student teachers for Northern Kentucky University.
Gerry and her husband served in several Cincinnati Baptist Churches in the field of music. Gerry was a pianist and organist.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oakey's East Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Hodapp Funeral Home,  6041 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio.
