Gloria Thelma Hardiman

Gloria Thelma Hardiman (nee Fischesser), 82 of Monroe Ohio passed away on April 15, 2024. She is survived by her children Paulette (C.S. Denson), Alan (Valerie), Christopher (Beverly), Alison (Chris Ward), grandchildren Nicole, Deidra, Alyssa, Krystal, Melissa, Sierra, Cheyenne, Christopher, Kristen, Austin, McKenzie, Nathan, great grand children, Briana, Sophia, Amaiya Dominique, Chloe, Ava and Madilynn.

Gloria was the oldest of 2 children born to Albert and Thelma of Dayton, Kentucky. She adored her baby brother, Roger and looked up to her half sister, Charlotte.

While still in school she met our dad and the love of her life Robert. They eloped to Indiana and were married for 47 years until his passing. Their first 2 children, were born within 16 months of each other. 7 years later the family was complete with the last 2 children, 24 months apart.

In 1969, dad was transferred to Detroit Michigan.  What she enjoyed most was staying home with her children. In the mid 70’s, when circumstances would no longer allow, she began employment with Kresge in Detroit. This was a job she held until retiring after 20 years from K-Mart in Cincinnati.

Her greatest joys were her children and many grand children. One of her passions was sewing, whether dolls, clothes or quilts that she made for the grand children. She also enjoyed doing ceramics. Mom was faithful in attending our endless activities such as sports, recitals, school events and even being a den mother for Cub Scouts and Girl Scout leader.  

Her entire life she was a devoted Catholic, where she volunteered in her parish making meals for the elderly and less fortunate.

She and Robert leave a legacy of family, love, memories and laughter, which will remain in her children, grand children, great grand children and many friends and extended family forever.

On Saturday April 20, family and close friends are invited to celebrate Gloria in the chapel at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant. Visitation at 11:00 am and service at 12 noon, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe Ohio 45150. Donations to Ohio Hospice are welcome.
