Helen A. Baker, 97, died on June 5th, 2014 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on December 17, 1916 on a US Military base in Manila, Philippines to Alex Natafalusy and Ella Sanft, she spent her teenage years at Carlisle Army Base, where she met her late husband, Larry Baker. They moved to Greenhills in 1940. Helen taught piano for over 60 years, affirming that life is better with music. A role model to hundreds of students, influencing multiple generations, her lessons of discipline and encouragement instilled confidence. She organized the Greenhills Community Choir, Children’s Choir, and was a Girl Scout leader. Helen’s hobbies included sewing, painting, and gardening. In 2001, the mayor of Greenhills declared February 6th “Helen Baker Day,” acknowledging her contributions to that community. Helen moved to West Chester in 2000, and spent the last years of her life in the Cottingham Community. Survivors include daughters Sandy (David) Seiwert, Karin (Greg) Kayne, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A member of the Crestview Presbyterian Church, donations in her memory can be made there. Memorial visitation will be held at Crestview Presbyterian in West Chester on Monday, June 9th from 10am until time of memorial service at 11am.
