Hitesh Jaykrishna Desai, age 61, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on December 31st, 2021 after fighting a strong battle against cancer for 7 months. He was born on March 9th, 1960 in Mumbai, India and grew up in Nadiad. Due to his jolly and caring nature he is fondly known by family and friends by his nickname “Bhalu” from a young age. He studied chemical engineering at “DDIT Nadiad” and completed his masters in Chicago at IIT. Although by profession he was an engineer, he was passionate about public life and social service.
After moving to the United States in 1989 Hitesh became a staunch devotee of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, where he began spending more time volunteering his time especially on the weekend. Hitesh was heavily involved with all dynamics at the BAPS Mandir. He always managed to find time to help people and touch even more lives in the most positive way by always being so loving, supportive, enthusiastic, and providing individual guidance. His primary purpose in life was about serving others -- family, friends, mandir, God and his Gurus Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj.
We thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Hitesh had a full heart, lived a complete life, and knew that his family and community loved him dearly. We will always remember his smiling face and serving nature. He appreciated all his family and friends.
