Beloved wife of Bill Smith for 60 years. Loving mother of Jeff (Brenda) Smith and Paula (Bob) Mefford. Dear grandmother of Zach (Andrea), Carly, Brooke, Lexi, and Harper. Dear great grandmother of Jackson, Nora, Jasper, and Ireland Rose. Sister of Helen Taylor and the late Mary Norman, Earlene Skinner, Lennis Holler, and Redgie Combs. Daughter of the late Paul and Bonnie Combs. Irene was a Worthy Matron of the Cardinal Chapter Eastern Star Lodge in Sharonville and retired from Otterbein Lebanon after spending 30 years as the Activity Director, heavily involved in the Alzheimer's unit care. She enjoyed ceramics, cooking, and baking. She loved gardening and spending her time outdoors whenever she had the opportunity. Irene passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp., OH 45044, on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Monroe, OH. Memorial Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, or Queen City Hospice.
