J. C. Rodgers

July 15, 1926 — December 31, 2015

J.C. Rodgers, age 89, smoothly and peacefully transitioned to heaven in his home, with his wife and children surrounding him, on December 31, 2015.  J.C.  was born on July 15, 1926, in Louisville, Kentucky, spending his early years on the family farm in Adair County, Kentucky.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. J.C. held longtime membership at Friendship United Methodist Church.  He served the Wyoming community as a volunteer Fire Fighter for 25 years, and served in many other ways, touching countless lives.  He was a Mason, a past Master of Carthage Lodge.  Most of all J.C. served his wife and family with strength, courage, and great devotion.  He is survived by his Wife of 63 years - Willa Joan Harper Rodgers; Children - Steven Rodgers (Sara), Lynette Rodgers Dubrow (Burt), Jeffrey Rodgers (Barbara), Bradford Rodgers (Cynthia); Grandchildren - Jesse Rodgers, Katherine Rodgers Mitchell (Ryan), Joseph Rodgers (Chelsea), Ali Dubrow, John Rodgers (Samantha), Liza Dubrow, Loren Rodgers, Madison Rodgers, Kellen Rodgers; and Great Grandchildren - Taleah Rodgers, Emma Rodgers, Arlo Rodgers, Ryan Mitchell and  Harper Mitchell.  Celebration Service will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church, 1025 Springfield Pike 45215, on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 10:30am.  Visitation will begin at 9:30, one hour prior to service.  Burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road 45241.   Arrangements handled by Hodapp Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of J.C. Rodgers to the Friendship United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
