James “Jim” C. Anton Sr., loving father of Tracy Jo Anton and James “Jimmy” Anton Jr., caring grandfather of Maverick Anton and Rylee King, brother of Rick, Tom, Bill, John, Mark, Ken and the late Ed Anton. Preceded death by his Parents Edward and Alma Anton. Jim was the owner of Valley Mechanical in Columbus, a branch of Valley Commercial Services, which his father started in 1937. He grew up in Cincinnati where he attended Roger Bacon High School and then transferred and graduated in 1978 from Scarlet Oaks. Jim was the youngest of 7 brothers. He served 4 years in the army as a ranger trooper, sharpshooter and a parachutist. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Gahanna, in Columbus. He loved the outdoors and being by the creek side where he would fish, watch birds, hunt and canoe. If you ever asked him how he was doing? no matter when, where or what he was doing. He would give out the same response “Living the Dream” Passed away June 8, 2023, at the age of 62. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. West Chester, OH 45069 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. St. Gabriel Church 48 W Sharon Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45246.
