James C. Brown

BROWN, James C.  Beloved husband of Joyce Brown (nee Hammons).  Dear father of Jim (and friend Ronda Brock) Brown, Sharon (John) McCormick, Susan (Don) Hinken and Laura (Jerry) Thamann. Step-father to Joe (Cherise) Hammons and Cheryl (Joe) Murphy.  Brother of Bob Brown and Tom (Pat) Brown.  Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews and 1 niece.  Jim was the Mayor of Lockland for 36 years, and was a member of Hamilton Co. Sports Hall of Fame, Reading Eagles Aerie #1095, Catholic Kolping Society of Cincinnati, Germania, St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus #1747, Shriners, Past-President of Lockland Democrat Club and Kentucky Colonels.  Served on the Board of Directors for the Mayors Assoc. of Ohio and later as President.  Served on Board of Directors for OML and later became its President.  He served on the League Board over 25 years.  Jim passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the age of 83, after a long illness.  Memorial visitation at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 330 W. Vine St. (at Church), Reading, Friday, June 8, 2018, 9-10:45 a.m. with Memorial Mass following at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jim Brown Veterans Park Memorial Fund, C/O Dan White, 7113 Champions Ln., West Chester, OH 45069.
