James E. Parr

On March 12, 2013 at 5:55pm, James Ellis Parr Peacefully went to be with his Lord and King Jesus Christ after a valiant 7 year fight with cancer. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years, S. Janette Parr, who he adores! He was born on February 8, 1940 to Vola and Prentis Parr of Sharonville, Ohio who have preceded him to Heaven. He is beloved dad to Judy Cross Fountain (Philip), Leslie Abt, Hillary Lingard (Todd), Roy Cross. He is greatly loved by his Grandchildren, Christopher Kilgore (Brandy), Melissa Cross Withem (Jeremy), Philip Fountain, Hannah Fountain, Jason Cross (Melissa), Brian Cross (Anna), Joshua James Cross, Sarah Cross, Christopher Lingard, Cody Lingard, Ashley Abt. And Loving Great Grandfather to Logan Shawn WIthem, Abel James Withem, Ashley Cross, Isabella Cross, Jacob Cross, Lillie Kilgore, Chloie Kilgore. After 28 years of working at Avon along with Janette, Jim joined Janette in retirement spent playing golf, fishing, camping, & playing together in Florida every winter and Ohio every summer. Throughout the years of fighting cancer Mom never left Dad’s side. It was obvious to everyone who met them that he absolutely adored her. He took such wonderful care of Mom since her stroke 12 years ago and his last acts before entering Hospice were not selfish or self-centered, but were all about making sure when he left her that mom had nothing to do but relax. On April 17th they would have celebrated their 43rd anniversary. He tried so hard to make it but was just too weak to fight any longer. And so without any fear or pain he closed his eyes and went to Jesus. Visitation will take place at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. (Rt. 42), West Chester, Friday, March 15 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM.
