James Elgin

James A., beloved husband of Sharon Elgin (nee Meyer) for 55 years. Dear father of Rick L. (Ellen) Elgin. Loving grandfather of Patrick J. Elgin and Lindsay N. Elgin. Passed away September 1, 2011, age 80. James was a 1953 graduate of the University of Louisville’s Speed Scientific School with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and served as an artillery instructor in the U.S. Army from June of 1954 until honorably discharged in March of 1956. He also worked for 37 years for the General Electric Company as an electro mechanical controls engineer, retiring in 1990. His hobbies included coin collecting, car repairs, working around the house and garden and occasional travel. Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. (Rt. 42), West Chester, Tuesday, September 6 from 4 p.m. until the funeral service at 5 p.m
