James E. Harmon Sr, beloved and devoted family man, passed peacefully under the care of hospice at Brookwood Retirement Community on December 18, 2024.
Born in downtown Cincinnati on September 30, 1929, he grew up during the Great Depression which taught him the value of hard work and being frugal. In addition to his extraordinary work ethic he was also an industrious problem-solver.
Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force in Wiesbaden, Germany. Following his military duty he worked as a machinist at Powell Valve and General Electric Aviation.
Jim leaves a legacy of humor, practicality and could always be relied upon for his words of wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Bonita F. (Gaffin)Harmon.
Left to mourn his loss are his children: James Harmon Jr, Jerald Harmon, Janet Kelsch (Robert), Jill Ulliman, and Joseph Harmon; his cherished grandchildren: Rachel Porco(Nicholas), Nicholas Ulliman(Ashley), Emily Kelsch(David Peirce), TaLena Nash, and Juliette Harmon; and his precious great-grandchildren: Madison, Owen, Connor Porco and Walker Ulliman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
A graveside service will take place at 11 AM, on Monday December 23, 2024 at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241.
