Jay Sikes

SIKES Jay O., loving father of David, Page, Stephen Sikes, grandfather of Christopher (Chasity) Metz and Jennifer Landrum, Carey and Brian Sikes, great-grandfather of three, and husband to the late Ann R. Sikes.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Dr. Clayton R, Sikes Sr. and brother, Dr. Clayton R. Sikes Jr.

Jay served in the United States Navy during the WWII and the Korean war. He enlisted by finishing high-school early. He is a retiree of the Chatfield (Mead) Paper Corporation where he excelled in sales. In retirement, he volunteered at Christ Hospital Patient Customer Service for over 20 years and H & R Block doing tax returns for seniors for many years as well. Jay was a member of Wyoming Golf Club and an avid golfer, achieving 5 Hole in Ones. He was a beloved resident of Marjorie P. Lee retirement community.  He loved vacationing at his family cottage on Lake Leelanau, MI where he spent most every summer since he was a teen. He passed on this love of Lake Leelanau to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jay Passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the age 93 and will be missed by all his friends and family. A private service will be held in honor of Jay Sikes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jay's honor to Hospice of Cincinnati or Marjorie P. Lee.
