Joan E. Ritter (nee Bosse)

Joan E. Ritter (nee Bosse) age 93, passed away on December 18, 2022. Joan was born on October 10,1929 in Cincinnati, OH to Harry and Mary (Hankenburn) Bosse growing up in Northside on the Bosse dairy farm. She attended St. Boniface School and Mercy High School, graduating in 1947. 

Devoted mother of Scot (Mary) Ritter, Barbara Carlotta, Jill Todd and Jayne Ritter (Steve Schaefer). Cherished grandmother of Chelsea Carlotta, Alyssa (Joe) Flading, Katie Ritter, Sarah Ritter (David Delgado), Kellie Schaefer, Nick Schaefer, Sophia Todd and Bryce Todd. Loving great grandmother of Anarah Carlotta, Elizabeth Schaefer and Joey, John and Clare Flading. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her grandson Vincent Carlotta, her son-in-law Trent Todd and her siblings, Anthony, Angela, Mildred, Milton, Victor, Cletus & Harry Jr.

Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren where she always welcomed them with a warm heart and a table full of food. She never refused a road trip, day adventures or attendance at her grandchildren’s sporting events. In the last few months of her life, Joan resided at Artis Senior Living, in Mason, OH. She enjoyed the many activities, especially interacting with the service animals and getting her hair styled in the resident beauty parlor.

Visitation will be held at St Margaret Mary Church, 1830 Galbraith Rd, North College Hill, Ohio 45239 on Thursday December 22 at 9am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visitation. Final resting place for Joan is Saint Mary’s Cemetery in St. Bernard.
