Joanna Charlette (Tassotti) Stamper, beloved wife of the late Phillip M. Stamper, died April 2, 2023. Joanna was born in Russellton, Pennsylvania to the late Pete and Ursula Tassotti on March 3, 1940. She was also preceded in death by her brother Petie. She is survived by her sister Ursula (Tootsie) Smith; daughters Cathy Stamper and Debbie Kreiner; son-in-law Paul Kreiner; grandchildren Virginia Kreiner, Phillip & Kat Kreiner; sisters-in-law Frannie Tassotti, Joyce, Ruthie and Sandy Stamper; Mary Lois Earles; cousin Marion Mondino; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; her kitty Daisy and little pony Cody Boy.
Joanna was from a small town outside Pittsburgh. She married Phil in 1959. They moved to Cincinnati and raised their two daughters in Reading, OH. In 1987 they moved to Mason OH to enjoy a little “country” life. Phil passed away in 2003 but remained the love of her life. Joanna touched many people’s lives working as a hairdresser and then in the Lakota schools cafeterias. Many kids, even after they were grown, would say hello to Mom and say that she was always their favorite lunch lady. Joanna was a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending and volunteering at church activities especially while Debbie was a Youth Minister. She also loved music and dancing (tap and jitterbug), cooking, baking, gardening, animals, taking care of her pony, and in her later years shopping and going out to eat. We know that Mom is happy now to be herself again, to be with Dad, her parents, her Baba, and all her loved ones who have gone before her.
To remember Joanna, plant some flower bulbs or a rose bush in your yard or garden.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday May 13 at St. John Church, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, West Chester, OH 45069 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:30 AM. Luncheon to follow about 12:30 PM in the Pavilion building at St. John.
