Long time Lebanon educator, John E. Evers, passed away April 9, 2009, in McAllen, Texas, from complications with Hereditary Hemochromatosis. He is survived by Suzanne (Current), his wife of 42 years, his sons John, Scott (Angie), Reese (Fenny), his brother Roy (Eileen), his sister Kathy, and 3 grandchildren. Born in Cincinnati April 12, 1941, he graduated from Sycamore High School, attended The Ohio State University, and was commissioned in the United States Air Force upon graduation. He received his Masters degree from Xavier University and worked on his PhD at Miami of Ohio. The “Big E”, as he was affectionately called, began working for the Lebanon City Schools in 1971 as a teacher, but is best known as the long time principal of Lebanon High School. Services will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cinti-Columbus Rd. (Rt. 42), West Chester, Saturday, June 13, 2009. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3 PM.
