John H. Raines, Jr.

John Howard Raines Jr., 74, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2020 in his home.

John was born on August 17, 1946 to Howard and Betty Raines in New Castle, IN.  John was a loving husband and with his wife Kay raised their three sons in Cincinnati. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had traveled throughout the country andworld with family and friends.  John’s interests were constantly evolving, and he was always reading, listening to music and attending sporting events. John was talented in many fields, he was a respected accountant and enjoyed teaching, and real estate.

He was predeceased by his wife Wanda Kay and father Howard Raines. He is survived by his mother, Betty, siblings Stanley, Jeananne, and Jill, children John, Charles, and Michael, grandchildren Ashlee, Isaiah, Elijah, Grayson, and Josephine.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, OH 45044, from 9am until time of Celebration of Life at 11am. A second service will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at Macer-Hall, Marcum and Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 Broad St, New Castle, IN 47362, from 12-1pm with services/burial to follow.
