John Bradley Reed

John went to be with his Savior, Jesus on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at the age of 93.  He was born to Joe and Ivy Werner Reed on January 25, 1930 in Richmond Indiana.  John was the beloved husband of Norma Miller Reed for 67 years. He was the loving father of Scott (Debbie) Reed, Cheryl (Dave) Stumpf, and Bryan (Cathy) Reed.  He was the dear grandfather of 7 grandchildren, Alan Reed, Kevin (Julie) Reed, Timothy (Brenna) Reed, Elizabeth (Aaron) Mohr, Karen Stumpf, Michael Stumpf and Hannah Reed.  John was the great grandfather of 7 great grandchildren Luke Reed, Lily Reed, Treyton Reed, Alton Reed, Asher Reed, Annie Reed, and Lael Mohr.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ivy Marie Reed Allen and his brother Marvin Reed.  

After graduating from Boston Indiana High School in 1947, he attended Purdue University earning a BS/AGE in 1952. After college he served as an officer in the Army in Korea and Turkey.  During his career with General Motors Truck and Coach he lived in Indiana, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, travelling extensively in North America and Panama.  He also worked for 3 GMC truck dealers in the Cincinnati-Middletown area. 

As a lifelong member of the Methodist church, John served in many different capacities.  Most recently attending in the Cincinnati-Middletown area, Faith Community UMC, Sharonville UMC, Monroe UMC.

John volunteered at Stewart Elementary School for several years in his retirement helping lower elementary students with their reading.  He was an avid golfer and usually vacationed where he could golf.

Visitation will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp. Ohio, on Wednesday, May 31 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev.  Jeffery Motter officiating.  Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason, Ohio to follow.
