Joseph Wright

Joseph Wright, LTC US Army (retired), Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War. Husband of Jean (Appenfelder), father of five daughters, Marcia Marsh (Pete Smith), Elizabeth Wright (Craig Dance), Nancy Mink (Mike), Mary Wright, and Jean Wilkinson (Mark). Grandfather of seven, Lauren, Courtney and Sam Mink, Leigh and Scott Dance, Kathryn and Matthew Wilkinson. Brother of Ann (Al) Virant. Brother-in-law of Ruth (Pinkie) and Jim Cooper, Joan Elsner. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at St. Susanna’s Catholic Church, 616 Reading Rd., Mason, on Friday April 29 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial to follow at West Chester Twp. Cemetery. 2007 Butler County Veteran of the Year. After retirement Joe was a frequent speaker at area schools on the history of the US Flags. He was an active Member of VFW post 7696 where he was the Commander three times. Active in the restoration of the Voice of America Broadcast Museum. Interviewed surviving WWII Veterans for the US Library of Congress. Joe was a chairperson for the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Teva Championship for the LPGA Futures Tour.
