Joyce A. Shiveley

Joyce Shiveley, beloved wife of the late Richard Wilson Shiveley, passed away on January 16. She was the daughter of the late John "Nip" and Olga Huxel (nee Goldberg) and leaves behind her children Charles Richard Shiveley (late Marcella Gambrell) and Beverly Koenig (nee Shiveley) (Daniel Koenig). Joyce will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, John Clifford Shiveley (Ye Xiong), Megan Marie Petty (nee Koenig) (Daniel Petty), and Kevin William Richard Koenig (Jeremy West), along with her great-grandchildren Claire Marcella Shiveley, Sean Xiong Shiveley, James Robert Frank Petty, William Henry Jerome Petty, and Thomas Joseph Cash Petty. She also held a special place in her heart for her step-grandchildren, Lawrence and Richard Renfro. Joyce dedicated many years to raising and showing ponies and horses, a pursuit that brought her great joy. She shared a special bond with her father, as they would often be seen together, driving a team of ponies in local parades. In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Joyce had a passion for sewing and embroidery, utilizing her skills to create quilts for all her family. She found joy in exploring the world through cruises and had a deep love for her loyal canine companion, Buddy.

Visitation will take place on Monday January 22, 2024 at Hodapp Funeral Home in Carthage, 7401 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45216, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 12 noon.
