WOOTEN, Joylette Richardson, age 68, died peacefully in her home on July 2, 2017, after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born on July 28, 1948. Her parents Milles Miller and Catherine Bruce Miller raised her in Cincinnati, OH.
Joy enjoyed interior decorating, crafting beautiful pillows and window treatments. She was very social and never missed an opportunity to enjoy friends and family over a good card game. All who knew her loved her as she gave the most thoughtful gifts, remembering everyone in her circle while traveling and bringing them souvenirs.
In l966, she married Leon Richardson Sr. after he landed a job with General Motors in Detroit, MI, where they settled and had two children Dr. Euphemia Richardson Gans and Leon Richardson Jr. Several years after Leon passed and she married Thaddeus Jones, they had a son Chatase Jones. Thaddeus had a girl that she adored, her second daughter Heather Jones McClendon. She had three grandchildren, Leona Richardson, Treasure Gans and Robert (BJ) McClendon.
One brother Earl Stanley Miller, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and other family and friends survive her.
In addition to raising her children, she was passionate about relationships. She would go on to marry two more times, to Gene Neal and P. Kevin Wooten.
Family will receive friends at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave., College Hill, Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 11 a.m. until memorial service at 12 noon.
