Cincinnati

Judith Ann Bethel (née Richards), 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on May 23, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on November 6, 1936, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Judy, known to many as a fun-loving and caring individual, was a beloved wife to the late Richard Bethel. She was a devoted mother to Susan Bethel, Carolyn (Rich) Larson, and Kathie Clarke. She adored her grandchildren Ryan and Erik Larson, Devin, Michaela, Moriah, Marlena, and Dylan Clarke, as well as her great-grandchildren Tristan, Gabriella, and Brooklyn. Judy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Judy's life was marked by her passion for helping others as a Registered Nurse, having graduated from St. Clairsville High School and the Ohio Valley General School of Nursing. Her genuine care for others and warm smile touched the lives of many throughout her career.

Judy enjoyed engaging in various activities with the College Hill Presbyterian Church where she worshipped, such as Bible study, knitting group, and singing in the choir. She was also involved in the Llanfair Singers and the Larchwood Welcome committee. At Christmastime, she and Richard found joy baking cookies, making candy, and giving thoughtful gifts to family and friends.

In honor of Judy's wishes, a family graveside gathering will be held in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Contributions in her memory can be made to College Hill Presbyterian Church | Give-online (chpc.org) a place that held a special significance in Judy's life. Judith Ann Bethel will be remembered for her kind heart, listening ear, and the love she shared with those around her.
