It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and cat-lover. Born on October 17, 1944, in Cincinnati, she remained a lifelong resident of the city she loved. She passed on February 19th, 2025 at 80 years young surrounded by her family and her kitties.
Judy was a proud graduate of Greenhills High School. She had a sharp wit and an unmistakable sense of humor that made her truly one of a kind. Known for her sarcasm and satirical nature, she had a way of bringing laughter into any room. She would have wanted those who knew her to remember her with smiles and jokes rather than tears.
Judy had a passion for shopping, particularly when it came to designer handbags—she could spot a great find from a mile away. She had an expensive taste, and she could never turn down a good deal. Judy was also an avid cat lover, always finding joy in the company of her many feline companions.
Judy is survived by her husband, Donald Jones; her daughter, Lara Becker; her grandchildren Eyanna Shrishti, Simona Reid, Natalie Reid, Joelle Reid, and Bryson Becker; her great-granddaughter Addilynn Sanders; as well as her stepchildren Teri Stinnett, Bill Jones, and Lori Manger. She was preceded in death by her father Woodrow Wilson Haynes Sr., her mother Lucille Prather, and her brother Woodrow “Buster” Wilson Haynes Jr.
Judy’s memory will live on through the laughter she shared and the love she gave. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the joy she brought into their lives. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Scratching Post cat-shelter of Silverton, OH in her honor.
