Julius Caesar Hicks

Julius was known for being industrious and was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. Julius was raised on a farm and carried those hard-working values throughout his life. Julius would come home from work and change into his work clothes, work outside on projects until dinner was ready and then go back out to work on his projects until sundown. This was just one way of showing his family his love and dedication to their needs.

Julius worked as an electronics engineer, production manager and master scheduler for companies such as Melpar, RCA, and Steel Heddle and lived in Alexandria, VA, Canton, NC, Forest City, NC and finally Travelers Rest, SC where he retired. After retirement, Julius owned his own business, TH Lawncare and had contracts with 10 McDonalds restaurants in the Greenville SC metro area.

Julius Caesar Hicks, 95 years old of Liberty Township OH passed away on April 14th, 2025, of natural causes in his sleep.

He was born in Penderlea, NC in 1929 to Rufus and Sara Hicks, who taught him to participate in the family farm with his 9 siblings. At the age of twenty-one and near the start of the Korean war, Julius enlisted in the US Navy and worked in supply chain.

• Helen Thomasine Hicks (Mauney) met the love of her life, Julius, in 1960 at Melpar where they both worked. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on June 3, 1961, and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2024.
• Julius and Thomasine could not wait to start a family of their own, and children meant the world to them, so soon Kimberly Renee Hicks was born in 1963 and Daren Julius Hicks in 1966.
• Grandchildren, precious to Julius, are Laura Hicks, Jaclyn James, Erin James, Todd Hicks, Austin James, Milena Hicks, Riston Dela Cerna, and Ransley Dela Cerna.
• Great grandchildren, an immense blessing to Julius, are David Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Lydia Hunter, Bella Ridenour, Ethan Sullivan, Quinn Canady, Esther Sullivan, and Ahmaya James.
