Kenneth E. Kincaid, 88, was born in Lee County, Kentucky, in 1934. He was the oldest of nine siblings and grew up on a farm. The family had a five-room home without electricity, running water or indoor plumbing. He told stories of waking up with snowflakes on his blankets in the winter, and of taking his younger siblings down to the spring to fetch water, and of keeping his horses under a cliffside. The family grew tobacco to support themselves and hung it to dry in a barn built in 1949. This barn still exists today and is a regular gathering place for the family.
In 1954, Kenneth entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1955-1957 where he transported explosives. He enjoyed the German beer, but said it was difficult to be away from his family back home. Kenneth was discharged from the Army in 1962.
Upon returning home, he moved to Cincinnati to work at General Motors in Norwood, Ohio, where he later retired from.
He met his late wife, Margaret Elizabeth Punghorst Kincaid in Norwood. They married in 1967.
Kenneth had five children: Tim See, Robert Kincaid, Scott (Kathy) Kincaid, Kathryn Zink, and Sherry (Doug) Epperson.
Kenneth was the brother of James (Glenda) Kincaid, Minnie (J Lynn) See, Judy (Charles) Holbrook, Muriel Connor, Betty Russell, Jean (Pete) Campbell, Charles (Mary Jane) Kincaid, and Doris Ann Kincaid.
He was the beloved grandfather of Phillip, Alexandra, Jessica, Taylor, and Zackary.
Kenneth passed away on December 16, 2022, and is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Kincaid and James W. Kincaid, sister Jean (Pete) Campbell, and sister Doris Ann Kincaid.
Kenneth enjoyed all that life had to offer and spent much of his time boating, four-wheeling on the family farm, restoring cars with Scott, and spending time with his family. He was very active in the Oakley Masonic Lodge, where he was a Master Mason. Kenneth also loved animals and had dogs his entire life. He was also an excellent cook, and made Christmas candy and peanut butter fudge for his family each year using recipes handed down from his mother.
