PORTER, Kyle B, age 52, passed away on September 3rd, 2016 in Columbus, OH. Health and fitness guru. Remarkable entrepreneur and leader. Avid hunter and athlete. My hero. Amazing. Innovative. Passionate. There are not enough words to rightfully honor Kyle or capture his spirit. We already miss his contagious laugh.
Kyle lives on through his fiancé Mandy with their two beloved dogs. Kyle and Mandy were best friends and soulmates; they fit together perfectly like two puzzle pieces. Their love transcends beyond this Earthly world into eternal life.
Kyle is also survived by his son, Cody Porter, and daughter, Brooke Hinkle, with her husband, Graden; Kyle recently became “Pappy” to their daughter, Kyle’s first grandchild. Other surviving family members are his mother, Beverly Porter, and his siblings, Kevin Porter and partner Tom Ferguson; Kim Wiley and husband Tim Wiley; and Karen Porter; extended family includes nephews, Casey Wiley and wife Lindsay along with their children as well as Keenan Wiley and wife Anna.
Kyle was truly a modern day Renaissance Man, flourishing in a wide variety of interests and business endeavors from martial arts and sports to construction and remodeling to cooking and cocktails to financial counseling and Healthy Snacks Vending. Kyle reinvented himself throughout his career always finding ways for self-improvement, growing spiritually and intellectually, and giving back to the community. After spending over 25 years in Construction and Project Management, Kyle provided compassion and empathy for others while working for non-profit agencies in foreclosure prevention and financial counseling to help families keep their homes. Kyle’s own desire for a healthy lifestyle with clean, organic eating transpired into one of his many side businesses; he provided affordable, convenient nutritious snacks on-the-go. Kyle enjoyed hunting and fishing immensely, looking forward to annual adventures with his family and friends, especially his nephews; he adored them as well as their spouses and children. Kyle’s legacy will also flourish through his countless hunting buddies, friends, coworkers, and neighbors throughout Kentucky and Ohio…you know who you are.
When we think of Kyle, we envision him with a fine bourbon and cigar…and once again that infectious laugh. Kyle crossed over peacefully and exactly as he wished with class, grace, and unimaginable will.
Kyle will be remembered for his last spoken words, ”Ready or not, here I come.”.
No visitation. A Celebration of Life memorial service is being planned in honor of Kyle’s wishes. Please be patient as arrangements are still in process with more information to follow. For further details and future dates, please return to
