Lance Samuel King

Lance Samuel King, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2017 from cardiac arrest.  He was born May 10, 1950 in Warren, Ohio to Samuel and Pauline (Wysenski) King.  Loving husband of 42 years to Anna (Winters) King and devoted father of Barbie (Douglas) Falor and Lana (Craig) Akers.  Cherished grandfather of Avery, Morgan, Quinn (Falor), Addyson and Owen Samuel (Akers).  Brother of Jill Petrarca and brother in law of Diana King.  Preceded in death by his brother Paul King and his parents.  To say Lance loved the game of golf was an understatement.  He could often be found at the Hamilton Elks where he had been a longtime member or in his backyard with a club in hand.  And although he graduated college, he chose to further his education by taking numerous golf lessons over the years in his attempt to be the first one ever to actually master the game.  Lance was affectionately know as Papa by his 5 grandchildren who were convinced he had hung the moon and could always count on him for treats.  His best canine buddy Callaway came into his world post retirement and Lance quickly understood the meaning of "man's best friend".  Like many others, he was a disappointed Browns fan and was patiently waiting for their year.  Lance grew up in Newton Falls, Ohio where he graduated from Newton Falls High School and then Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.  He retired from State Auto Insurance Company in Cincinnati and was enjoying his freedom and new home on the golf course.  Lance never met a stranger and you can bet if you made eye contact with him, he'd find some commonality to chat with you about.  Lance had many dreams in life and while he was unable to fulfill all of them, he left this world a happy and blessed man.  He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp., OH 45044 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Cincinnati Children's Hospital Neurology Dept.
