Preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Ruth McCowan, and sisters Gladys Tilly, Shirley McCowan, and Carolyn Hamm. Linda Kay was born on June 2nd, 1946 in Science Hill, Kentucky. Throughout her childhood she developed close bonds with her sisters that would serve as a cornerstone of her life. Upon moving to Cincinnati, Ohio she met and married William Fredrick Walley on October 10th, 1964. They soon watched their family grow as they welcomed two beloved sons into the world. Throughout her life, she served as a beautician, dental assistant, and wedding planner in which she exemplified the life of a hard-working wife and mother. However, it was her role as a daughter of Christ that give her the most joy in life. She was a long-time faithful servant and member of the Church of the Nazarene, devoting countless hours preparing children’s Sunday school lessons, crafts, and praying for those in her care. She loved and protected each child long after they were out of her care, creating familial bonds that would surround her the rest of her life. As those who knew her can attest, she was not afraid to speak her mind. But they would always be greeted with a warm smile and leave with a laugh-invoked tear in their eye. She loved her family and church, sacrificing whatever she could for their benefit. Christ was the center of her life, as her love for others certainly displayed. Linda Walley will be dearly missed.
