Linda Ross

Linda Ross, nee Linda Jean Porter, 1/2/1945 – 1/7/2014 attended the Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland Ohio where she served as an accompanist to her high school choir. She attended The Ohio State University following high school before moving to Ann Arbor Michigan to be near her brother, where she worked at the University of Michigan Library. In 1967 she married Dr. Joseph B Ross, a former class mate of her brother, and moved to Parkville MO, where Joe was teaching and where she completed a degree in piano and voice. Later Joe’s work at GE brought her to Syracuse NY, where she taught piano to young students and then to Cincinnati, where she sang as part of the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, and at the Sharonville United Methodist Church. Linda is survived by a son, Daniel and husband Joseph. Linda had compassion for wildlife and for her pets, and gave freely to a number of charities which supported people in the US and around the world. Visitation will take place at Sharonville United Methodist Church, 3751 Creek Rd., Sharonville, on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Donations in her name should be sent to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, or The Humane Society.
