Lloyd Bishop Jr.
June 6, 1933 — October 30, 2015
Bishop Jr., Lloyd passed away on October 30th, 2015, in Hamilton, OH, at the age of 82 after a 10 year battle with cancer. Lloyd was born in Buckhorn, KY, to the late Loyd Bishop and Zillah (nee McIntosh) Bishop on June 6th, 1933. Lloyd's brothers Vernon, Herbert, Arch, and Gordan preceded him in death.
Lloyd enjoyed a 65 year marriage to his beloved wife Cleo (nee Deaton) Bishop. He is survived by his two sons Larry K. Bishop of Jasper, GA, and Randell S. Bishop of Fairfield Township, OH. Lloyd enjoyed his three grandchildren: Jaime Erwin of Canton, GA, Kenneth Bishop of Singapore, and Connor Bishop who is now attending Ball State University. Lloyd was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Miles Bishop, Cornelia Bishop, Logan Erwin, and Parker Erwin.
Lloyd was a dedicated and hardworking individual who started at age 17 sweeping floors at Steelcraft Manufacturing Company in Blue Ash, OH. When he finished his 47 years of service with this company, he had worked his way up to the position of plant manager of the evening shift responsible for over 300 employees. He took great pride in being "fair."
Lloyd loved driving one of the numerous Cadillacs that he owned over the years, boating on Lake Cumberland, KY, with his family, grilling a good steak, driving fast, playing poker and rummy, teasing his daughters-in-law, Deborah and Karen Bishop, and growing and eating a good tomato. One of his passions was touring the United States with Cleo, having visited 45 states.
Over his many years, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriners.
Visitation will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH, on Wednesday, Nov. 4th, from 10:30 AM until time of funeral service at 11:30 AM, in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.
