Loren “Dee” Mays

Loren “Dee” Mays, beloved husband of Kathy, entered the Gate of Heaven on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the age of 72 while surrounded by his loving family. Dee is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy (Thomas) Mays, as well as by his two sons: Stephen and his wife, Ann and their children Cade, Dex, and Riley; Adam and his wife, Sarah and their children Freddy, Layla, and August. He is also survived by his brother Mike (wife Sandy) Mays and sister Debbie Mays.

Dee was born on June 12, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio.  Dee was a faithful husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus, above all else. His family and friends were the recipients of this unwavering faith and love for God. And because of his love for his Savior, he also lived with dedication as a friend, salesman, teacher, and coach.  Dee attended LIFEHOUSE Church in Lebanon, Ohio, where he served as a faithful member and Sunday School teacher.  In his younger years as an athlete, he played baseball, football, and basketball and was later inducted into his high school’s Hall of Fame.

A celebration of Dee’s life will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, Ohio 45044. Visitation will be at 11am followed by the service at 12pm. Memorial contributions may be made to LIFEHOUSE Church, Lebanon.
