It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcie Anna Gschwind who left us peacefully at the age of 96 on March 24, 2025. She, along with her twin sister were born to parents Duane and Loma Elarton in Rising Sun, Ohio on December 8,1928. They became the first in our family to graduate from high school in 1946 having been cheerleaders, playing the trombone, piano, accordion and singing in the choir. She went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Education and later obtained a master's in education degree from the University of Cincinnati. In 1950, she moved to Cincinnati Ohio and married Donald Wellington Gschwind from Bradner Ohio. They had four children, Mary Ann, David (Jayne), Betty (Mitch) and Patti. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and known affectionately as our Gomi. After retiring from a teaching career specialized in reading recovery in 1995, she embraced a deep and enduring passion for art and music. She was an active member of Saint Michael Catholic Church both singing in choir and playing the organ. Visitation will be held on Friday March 28 from 9-10am followed by a funeral mass from 10-11am at Saint Michaels Catholic Church, 11144 Spinner Ave Cincinnati OH 45241. Our family welcomes everyone who would like to pay their respects. She will be laid in eternal rest alongside her husband, eldest daughter and granddaughter at Union Township Cemetery in West Chester Ohio.
