Marie S. Burks

BURKS, Marie Susan (nee Hollmann) Born February 27, 1926. Daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa Hollmann. Beloved mother of Pat (Deborah) Burks, Tim (Judy) Burks and Peggy (David) Herrmann. Cherished grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 10, preceded in death by her grandson David Patrick Burks. Marie was born in Wyoming, OH where she lived until her 90^th year then moving to Ohio Living Llanfair in College Hill. At Llanfair she enjoyed 7 more active years. Marie attended St. James of the Valley grade school then graduated from OLA High School in 1944. She earned a degree in Radio and Stage Training from the Schuster-Martin School of Drama in Walnut Hills. She dedicated her life to raising her family and was a tireless volunteer in many church, school and community organizations. Most importantly she had a strong devotion to the Lord. Marie passed away June 8, 2023 at the age of 97. Visitation will take place at the Hodapp Funeral Home 7401 Vine St., Carthage, Thursday from 9:30AM until 10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. James of the Valley Church, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Thursday at 11AM. Condolences to hodappfuneralhome.com
