Marilyn "Joann" Truitt

Marilyn "Joann" Truitt, age 85 passed away in peace at Hospice Respite Care, Cincinnati Ohio, in the presence of her loving daughter, and best friend Ester K. Bond and her supportive Son-In-Law Jeffery H. Bond. Joann returned to her heavenly home in the early morning hours of June 22nd, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness, Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Joann was born in Cincinnati Ohio, and is the daughter of the late Edson and Grace Leota Carsey. As a child she discovered her love of the piano and her nurturing spirit as she cared for her mother and brother until their passing at a very young age. Joann graduated from Lockland High School in Lockland Ohio, and shortly after married and began a family.

Joann is survived by; her Daughters Ester K. Bond of Nashville, TN and Elizabeth A. Linz of White Oak, OH. Her step children Charles and Anita Truitt. Her honorary Son Gary King, her Son-In-Laws Jeffery H. Bond, Paul E. Linz, and Cecil Nabors.

Joann is survived by; her Grandchildren Lisa Read, Eric Hoover, Tracey Buckner, Heather Mundy, James Linz and Robert Linz. Joann was also survived by her Great Grand Children; Tyler Gray, Summer Gray, Logan Linz, Conor Linz, Annie Linz, Anthony Hoover Thompson, and Annistion Mundy.

Joann was preceded in death by; her parents, by her brother Charles Carsey, by her daughter Grace A. Nabors, her Grandson Scott Gray, and by her first husband, the father of her three daughters, Edward D. Wesley. She was also widowed by her husband Everett L. Truitt.

Joann had a rebel soul, a loving spirit and a giving heart.she opened her home and heart to anyone lost or in need. Spreading unconditional love everywhere she went. Always giving before receiving, sharing never taking. Joann had a strong faith that lead her to share the gospel through youth ministry at Lockland Church of the Nazarene.

Joann played the piano beautifully and shared this gift with churches around Cincinnati. She sat on the church boards and donated her time to many groups. Joann ministered to all, from her visits to the jail, to her parties in the nursing homes. She drove the blind and took in the forgotten. so many lives touched, changed, and saved.

To anyone who knew and loved her, to anyone whose lives and hearts have been touched by Joann; we ask that you join our family in honoring her memory and in lieu of flowers make a donation to the ASPCA or any charity supporting Breast Cancer or Lymphoma. Causes near and dear to our mothers heart.

A memorial to honor Joann's life and celebrate her return home, will be held at Montana Ave. Church of the Nazarene, in Cincinnati Ohio. Date and time are to be announced.
