1921-2017
Marjorie A. Martin (nee Sargent) ascended into her place in heaven on Nov. 27, 2017 at the age of 96. She was the devoted mother of Lynda Martin Sizemore (Eddie), Michael S. Martin (Carrie), Harold G. Martin II (Julie), Thomas J. Martin (Grete), Christopher A. Martin (Karen), Mary Anne Schaeper (Steve), Sara A. Berninger and Heather A. Martin. She is preceded in death by her dedicated husband of 66 years, Harold G. Martin and her beloved daughter, Cheryl A. Martin. She was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was born in Detroit and attended Visitation High School. She married her love, Harold, a decorated WWII veteran in 1943 and settled in Birmingham, MI. She raised nine children – what she considered to be her life’s greatest blessing – and moved to Lebanon, OH in 1983. A devout Catholic, she attributed her unwavering strength to her faith.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Dec. 9th at 2 p.m. at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Rd. in Mason, OH. A Celebration of Life will follow at Water’s Bend Clubhouse, 350 Sycamore Lane in South Lebanon, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament Cloistered Dominican Nuns, 29575 Middlebelt Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48334 or to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263.
