Mark David Daniel, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away at the age of 63 on September 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father David Lloyd Daniel and his brother Daryl Richard Daniel. He is survived by his mother Mary Garland Daniel of Cincinnati; his brother Michael (Jan) Daniel of Cincinnati; his sister Julie (Michael) Daniel Bihlman of Cincinnati; his sister Tricia (Roger) Daniel Stiles of Cincinnati; his daughter Sally (Harris) Daniel Anderson of Newnan, GA; his daughter Leslie (Jonathan) Daniel Echols of Cullman, AL; his son David Lloyd Daniel II of Atlanta; his daughter Elizabeth (Sean) Daniel Rhoades of Atlanta; and six grandchildren: Ethan Brooks Echols, Molly Luggen Anderson, Addie Marie Echols, Augustus Franklin Anderson, Nolan Daniel Echols and Sloan Elizabeth Rhoades. Mark was born on April 25, 1952, in Wilmington, Ohio. He graduated from Moeller High School in 1970. He then attended the University of Maryland where he played football; he completed his degree in history from the University of Cincinnati in 1974. Mark shared four beautiful children with Libby Luggen Turner. He devoted his 32-year career as an insurance underwriter to the Cincinnati Insurance Company. Mark spent his semi-retired years working for Seniors Helping Seniors and ushering mass at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He enjoyed a good book, spin classes, playing golf, and most of all, Alabama football. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Hoover, AL, on Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. He will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven following a funeral Mass at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cincinnati on Wednesday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cause near and dear to his heart: Birmingham Alcoholics Anonymous.
