BACKSMAN, Mary Goeke loving wife of the late Joseph H. Backsman, beloved step mother to Joseph Backsman, sister of Lois (the late Peter) Curtin, aunt to James (Lisa) Landon, Mark (Rebecca) Landon, Lisa (Kris) Lamping, Cari (Ty) Sanders, Margo (Mark) Clasgens, Mary (Tom) Proctor, Emily (Jason) Smith and Eric (Molly) Landon. Great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary graduated from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Law in 1958 and was the owner of Goeke Law Practice. Mary was a 50 year member, and past President of Zonta Club of Cincinnati, National President from 1964-1970 of Alpha Sigma Alpha, a member of the Cincinnati Women’s Club, a member of Clovernook Country Club, Ryland Lakes Country Club, Bankers Club, and also a great supporter of the Cincinnati Arts Association. Mary passed away on April 18, 2017 at the age of 82. Visitation on Friday, April 28th from 5-7 PM at Hodapp Funeral Home, College Hill, 45224. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 2733 Massachusetts Ave, 45225. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Alzheimer's Association.
