Mary H. Remler

REMLER, Mary Helen, age 91, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on January 23, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Harry Earl Remler for 58 years; devoted mother of Elaine Klapproth, Carol Martin, and Bob Remler; loving grandmother of Kristen Fitzsimmons, Melissa Costello, Daniel Martin, Jonathan Martin, Elizabeth Remler, and Carl Remler; proud great-grandmother of Keahi Fitzsimmons and Malia Fitzsimmons; and caring mother-in-law of James Klapproth, Ted Martin, and Anne Beckman. A graduate of Ohio State University, she was a member of the Hamilton County Genealogical Society (HCGS), the Clermont County Genealogical Society, and The Ohio Genealogical Society. She was the recipient of the Hamilton County Recorder’s Office 2007 Griffin Yeatman Award for Historical Achievement, the HCGS’s 40th Anniversary Award, the Volunteer of the Year award by the Federation of Genealogical Societies in 2003 and 2004, and earned the 2000 HCGS Distinguished Service Award. Mary compiled, co-authored or co-edited 18 genealogical reference books. She was a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Boy Scouts, Ohio Child Conservation League, and the PTA. Visitation will take place at St. Andrew the Apostle Church 552 Main St., Milford, Tuesday January 31st, from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am.
