Mary Jane Hutchins

Mary Jane (nee Laughlin) Hutchins was born into eternal life on November 4, 2017 at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late W. Tate Hutchins Sr. Loving mother of Mary Jo Hutchins, Dr. William T. (Theresa) Hutchins Jr., J. Mark Hutchins, and Thomas A. (Beverly) Hutchins. Dear Grandmother of Kathy (Michael) Smith, Jenny (Drew) Benjamin, Elizabeth Hutchins, Michael Hutchins and William T. Hutchins, III. Great grandmother of Kyler Smith, Alice Smith and Mackenzie Hutchins. Daughter of the late Harry and Hilda (nee Stenger) Laughlin.
Mary Jane is survived by a brother Dr. Harold “Hal” Laughlin and sisters Laverne Stark and Shirley Lalley and sister-in-law Mary (nee Brown) Laughlin. She was preceded in death by her brother John “Jack” Laughlin and Ralph “Skip” Laughlin and brothers-in-law John “Mo” Lalley and John “Starky” Stark.
Mary Jane was born in Covington, Ky. on January 25, 1924. She attended LaSalette Academy and graduated from Villa Madonna College with a B.A. in the Classics in 1945. She received her Masters’ Degree in Education from Miami University of Ohio and was an outstanding teacher at Our Lady of the Rosary school for 24 years.
Mary Jane was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, the Rosary and the “Divine Will”. She loved spending time with family and friends and had particular interests in literature, music, history, art and travel.
Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Church 48 W. Sharon Rd. Glendale, Oh. on Friday November 10th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the Mass of Eternal Rest at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mother of God Cemetery on Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, Ky.
