HENGELBROK, MARY LOUISE, was called home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2018. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thomas A. Hosty and Emily Guiney Hosty, Mary Louise graduated from St. Ursula Academy and the College of Mount St. Joseph.
In 1946, after her fiancé James W. Hengelbrok returned from World War II, Mary Louise and Jim married and began many happy years of marriage. They raised three children and were devoted parents and grandparents who instilled in generations of their family a love of God, family, books, and travel. They spent many happy years traveling the world, as well as many treasured family vacations in Leland, Michigan.
Mary Louise is survived by her daughter Susan Haag (Jim) and son Thomas E. Hengelbrok in Cincinnati; her son James W. Jr. (Mary) in Tampa; and by her grandchildren Michael, David and Tim Hengelbrok in Tampa; Lara Hengelbrok in Seattle, and Anne Haag in Chicago. Visitation at St. Boniface Church, 1750 Chase Ave., Northside, on Friday, January 4, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ursula Academy.
