Mary Malisse Washburn, age 94 of Xenia,Ohio passed away June 27th 2019 in Middletown Ohio,
Mary was born to the late Alanson (Jack) Volk and Lizzie (nee Hawes) Volk on April 18th 1925 in Greenup, Illinois. She was one of 9 children. Her only surviving sibling is her sister Evelyn Grissom.
She was married to Harold Dean Washburn for 66 years until his passing in 2009.
Mary was a RN for 16 years. She then went back to school for Cosmetology, where she found her calling. On November 13th 1971, she completed her Merle Norman Training and opened her first Merle Norman shop in Wilmington Ohio, but later relocated her Merle Norman Total look Beauty shop to 31 West Main Street in Xenia, Ohio, where she sold Merle Norman Beauty products for over 40 years.
Mary is survived by her 3 sons, Jerry (Glenda), Harold and Roger.
She is also survived by her Grandchildren
Sheryl (Dan) Willinger, Derik (Stephanie) Washburn, Treva (Phil) Palmer, Michelle Washburn (Kevin Wood), Jaime (Evi) Washburn, Shawna (John) Johnson-Norris, Jason (Lori) Washburn as well as 12 great grand-children and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents Aaron and Lizzie, her siblings Leroy Volk, Bonnie Volk, Thomas Volk, Dallas Volk, Earl Volk, Ruby Brandenburg, Maxine Brandenburg as well as her Daughter in laws Ruby Washburn and Brenda Washburn.
Her ashes will be returned to her place of birth in Greenup, Illinois.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to the care staff at Garden Manor Care center in Middletown as well as the compassionate nurses at Crossroads Hospice, for all the loving and caring support during her last 2 month of life.
