Maryrose Ann Duber
November 13, 1959 to September 4, 2023.
Loving Sister to: Allan (Char), Joe, John (Sue), Larry, Jerry (Janet) and Nancy (late Terry).
Cherished Aunt of: Charlie (Danielle), Rob (Vanessa) John, Lisa Rose (Sean), Allison (Sam), Michael, Abby, Anna (Hal), Alena and the late Brendan as well as many grand nieces/nephews and cousins.
Maryrose grew up in Avon Lake, OH and was one of 7 children born to Rosemary and Joseph Duber. To the delight of her parents, she was the first girl after 5 sons. Although named after her mother, she was the spitting image of her father. And despite her mother’s best efforts to dress her in frilly dresses and play with dolls, she was an avowed tomboy who just wanted to play baseball outside with her brothers and ride go-carts. Maryrose was a very high energy, strong willed, charismatic, creative, fun loving and generous spirit. In grade school she was a natural leader, enjoyed Girl Scouts and was chosen to crown Mary (a high honor) in the May Crowning in her 8th grade. Every Christmas she created elaborate gingerbread houses and throughout the year, was always working on some creative arts project. At Lorain Catholic High School, she won many medals for Track and Field and played on softball leagues as well as volunteered at summer camps for mentally handicapped children. At Mount Saint Joseph College in Cincinnati, Maryrose was often the life of the party but ultimately under the kind direction of her teachers who recognized her talents, graduated with honors in Special Education. From there her passion for caring for special needs developed into a life long career in Cincinnati. She loved planning events for her students and cared deeply for them. Maryrose also took pride in decorating and creative DIY projects in her home. She enjoyed traveling with family, inspirational music, puzzles, games and of course her beloved little Jake.
Maryrose passed unexpectedly in her home this past week. Her loss creates an un-fillable void and she will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
