Nancy D. Gleis

June 10, 1938 — December 25, 2019

Nanci D. Gleis (nee Lilly), born June 10, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio went home to the Lord on her favorite day of the year, December 25, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 61 yrs, Ronald E. Gleis. After visiting with her family, she passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, FL. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear devoted friend to many lifelong and new friends. She is predeceased by her parents William & Katherine Lilly. Nanci & Ron moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2015. She is also survived by her 3 children; Sheli (Roy) Williams, Deann Ramey and Stephen (Kelly) Gleis. Nanci was Grammy and adored by her grandchildren, Adam (Bree) Hardwick, Morgan (fiancé Richard) Ramey, Michael (Katie) Ramey, McKenzie, Meghan and Marrisa Gleis (along with their mother Sheri Gleis). Extended family grandchildren, Phillip (Ashleigh) Williams, David (Alina)Williams, Edward Williams, Seth Baer, Riley & Logan Kasza and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Martha K. Winternheimer (née Lilly) and her loving nieces Kathy (Dale) Perdue, Deborah (Stuart) Goldblatt and Nanci (DJ) Yetter along with her cousins Fritz & Richard Brune. She also leaves behind loving in-laws; Harry Gleis, Jeanie Schiml, Kevin (Mary) Ellis and loving nephew Mark Gleis. Nanci was loved by so many people and made such an impact on those around her.  She will be remembered for her love and deep sense of caring that she imprinted on others. She will be deeply missed and we celebrate her life as a gift from our Lord Jesus. Internment will at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Tues. Jan. 21, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. Celebration of Nanci’s life will follow at Tara Golf & CC at 11:30 A.M. Please, in lieu of flowers, donations may be to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
