Nicholas J. Gobbi

Nicholas J. Gobbi, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed unexpectedly on April 13, 2020 one week after his 27^th birthday.

Nick will be missed everyday by his Mother, Cheryl; Sister, Mindy; his Grandad and Mamaw; and his loving Aunts, Cousins, Uncle, and close friends.

We know Nick is now at peace with his Dad, Nana, Papaw, Aunt Paula, Uncles, John, Greg and Mark; and is loved here on earth as well as heaven.

Nick was an easy going, quiet and unassuming man. He had a heart of gold and it never failed to shine through his seemingly tough exterior. His witty sense of humor could always make you laugh and his loyalty for those he loved knew no bounds.

Growing up, Nick was always active; earning a black belt in karate and playing basketball whenever he had the chance. He was a huge Kobe fan; savoring game highlights and NBA classics. He also loved watching (and re-watching) movies. Drawn to the emotional depth, his favorite was Good Will Hunting.

Known as “Gobbi” or “Gobes”, Nick kept a small, close inner-circle but was considered family and loved as a brother by most. Since Nick’s passing, many have shared how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him.

Most of all, they recall his kindness, the sheer pleasure of his company, the hilarious memories that will be forever cherished and how much he will be missed.

Nick had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness and laughter to others. We are thankful for our time with him as our son, brother, family member and friend and cannot wait until we see him again. He truly was a beautiful soul that will never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

To honor Nick’s love of basketball and kindheartedness, remembrances in his name may be donated to Saturday Hoops to promote positive role modeling for kids through basketball.
