PLEIMAN, Sr. Grace Miriam, SFP (nee Patricia Agnes), our beloved Sister, passed to eternal life on August 5 at age of 78. She lived a life dedicated to God and God's people for 60 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Poor. During those years she served the poor and marginalized as a nurse, mental health professional and pastoral care minister. Her ministry was predominantly in New York and Ohio where she was the Founding Director for Inniss Franciscan House in Brooklyn, a shelter for men; and Tamar's Place in Cincinnati, a hospitality setting for women living on the streets. She is survived by her Sisters in Christ, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, and her siblings Mary Dahlinghaus, Helen Grogene, Ellen Grillot, James Pleiman, Nick Pleiman, Jerry Pleiman, Johanna Koesters, Teresa Winner and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret (Schaffer) and Edward J. Pleiman, sister Delores (Van Leeuwen) and brother Edward, Jr. Visitation at St. Clare Peace Center, 80 Compton Rd., Hartwell, on August 13 from 9:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Clare Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the St. Clare Cemetery will follow the Liturgy.
